Dr. Alicia Viera

Dr. Alicia Viera received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. She has extensive experience in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, and medical clinics. She is highly interested in diagnostic testing to highlight strengths and maximize an individual’s overall functioning. She has ample experience with evaluations for pediatrics, adolescents, and adults to rule out learning disabilities and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. Dr. Viera is able to advocate for the implementation of 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in public and private schools. Her clinical interests include the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families with a wide range of struggles including depression, anxiety, academic struggles, acting out behavior, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, grief/loss, increasing peer relationships, and building effective parenting strategies. Dr. Viera will meet the client’s individual needs through the use of a variety of treatment modalities.

Dr. Melissa Salinas

Dr. Melissa Salinas is a clinician who completed her doctorate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked with individuals, ages 3-70, families, parent-child dyads, and couples.  Dr. Salinas believes all individuals can benefit from having an additional support to help them cope through difficult times in their lives. 

 

In particular, Dr. Salinas has extensive experience working with families, children, and schools when completing both psychological assessments and psycho-educational assessments, which focuses on understanding a child's strengths and weaknesses within the academic domains covered in school. She, further, has hosted team meetings with teachers, staff, and parents to understand the results of the child's assessment, helped to provide and implement recommendations and worked with individualized education plans for private schools. 

 

In therapy, Dr. Salinas focuses on the needs of the client(s) ranging with a multitude of difficulties. For children under the age of 5, Dr. Salinas works with a parent-child dyad to focus on the relationship between child and parent in order to address issues included but not limited to behavioral difficulties, trauma, and relationship difficulties. In therapy with individuals older than 5, Dr. Salinas tailors therapy to best address the presenting difficulties.  Dr. Salinas is an open, warm, empathetic therapist who understands each individual is impacted by the multiple systems of which they are integrated in.

Rachel Epps, LCPC

Rachel Epps is a licensed professional counselor who received her masters in counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Her clinical focus is working with child and adolescent clients who present symptoms of emotional and behavioral disorders. Rachel has provided individual and group counseling services in school and residential living environments to youth from multicultural backgrounds. She has experience providing services that focus on trauma, grief, life transitions, school performance, learning disabilities, social functioning, depression and anxiety management.  

 

 

In therapy, Rachel focuses on providing a safe environment that is conducive to effective treatment. To meet this goal, Rachel uses creative and enthusiastic methods to meet the needs of her clients. Rachel is a strength based clinician who utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques to assist her clients in obtaining a higher level of functioning and emotional comfort.
